What’s the movie about?
Nick Bannister (Hugh Jackman) is no ordinary private detective. His area of expertise is the human mind and the buried memories that need to be recovered. He navigates his way through the darkly tantalizing world of the past by helping his clients access lost thoughts. On the edge of the sunken shores of Miami, he has created a place he sees as his refuge. His life is turned upside down when he takes on the request of his new client, Mae (Rebecca Ferguson). The simple assignment develops into an emotional relationship from which Nick draws new strength. But the initial love soon turns into doubt when he suspects a conspiracy in other memories of his clients, in which Mae seems to be involved. For him, the question is: How far will he go to learn the truth about Mae?
