What’s the movie about?
Bodybuilder Daniel Lugo (Mark Wahlberg) and his buddy Adrian Doorbal (Anthony Mackie) are best friends. They live in sunny south Florida. But instead of enjoying life to the fullest, Lugo works his butt off at the Sun Gym gym. The job doesn’t pay much, so at the end of the day the muscleman is not at all satisfied with himself and his life. Together with Doorbal, he finally hatches a plan to kidnap Victor Kershaw (Tony Shalhoub), a wealthy businessman and regular visitor to the gym, and torture him into giving them all his money. The plan seems foolproof and with the energetic support of Paul Doyle (Dwayne Johnson), fresh out of prison, the harebrained scheme actually appears to succeed. However, when Kershaw manages to escape and sic private investigator Ed Du Bois (Ed Harris) on them to find and hunt them down, the air becomes thin for the pumped-up trio.
