What’s the movie about?
Away, just away! 18-year-old Star (Sasha Lane) was like a mother to her two siblings, had to put up with their redneck friends because of it – and now she’s had enough. She meets a ragtag bunch of magazine salesmen moving across the country, joins the colorful, party-loving troupe, and the road trip is on. Star immediately finds a crush among her new acquaintances: Jake (Shia LaBeouf), an extroverted guy who is also attracted to her – but is foolishly the boyfriend of aloof young businesswoman Krystal (Riley Keough). Conflict is bound to ensue, and the situation doesn’t get any better as Star becomes more and more bothered by the dishonest sales practices, in which Krystal in particular knows few inhibitions. So the troupe tours the Midwest and Star must ask herself at some point how much longer she wants to participate…
