What’s the show about:
In the 1980s, a new sound is making its way through the streets of American cities: hip hop takes the lead among young people and is especially popular in the black community. The lyrics about drugs, women and money awaken in some followers the desire to live the dream themselves. The brothers Meech (Demetrius ‘Lil Meech’ Flenory) and Charles Flennory (Russell Hornsby) get infected by the ideas and start their own “Black Mafia Family”. With illegal businesses, they manage to accumulate lots of money in a short time and make a name for themselves. Their passion for hip hop mixes with the corrupt deals: under the name BMF Entertainment, the boys enter the music business and push new artists, provide support for hot acts and promote new talent. No one suspects that the whole facade is just there to cover the deals backstage.
