What’s the movie about?
The tragicomedy “50/50 – Friends for survival” is about Adam (Joseph Gordon-Levitt) in his mid-twenties who is diagnosed with a tumour. Adam immediately informs his girlfriend Rachael (Bryce Dallas Howard), his best friend Kyle (Seth Rogen) and his mother Diane (Anjelica Huston) about his diagnosis. To cope with the new situation he visits the inexperienced psychologist Katherine (Anna Kendrick). However, she uses him more as a pity-scam, than to help him. Also his mother burdens him more and more and his girlfriend throws herself into work. Adam is getting less and less able to handle his feelings.
