What’s the movie about?
The movie “Mid90s” takes place in the 90’s in the USA. The comedy is about 13-year-old Stevie (Sunny Suljic), who lives together with his brother and his single mother Dabney (Katherine Waterston) in a small apartment. Stevie plays “Street Fighter II” with his friends and listens to his brother’s mixtapes. One day he makes friends with the cool guys from the local skater shop, who are all a bit older than him. Stevie suddenly has access to forbidden parties, makes girl acquaintances and has trouble with the police. Stevie feels free and can finally free himself from the clutches of his mother and the tyranny of his brutal brother. But at some point Stevie has to realize that his new friends aren’t the best role models either…
