What’s the movie about?
It’s the big love: Matt (Kevin Hart) and his girlfriend Lizzie (DeWanda Wise) have been head over heels in love with each other since school days. Until now, many miles separated the two lovers. Now their long-distance relationship is to come to an end. The imminent birth of their child together is supposed to crown their new family happiness. But dark clouds cover the joyful event: Lizzie dies during the birth of their daughter Maddy (Melody Hurd) and leaves Matt as a widower and single father. Not only does Matt have to deal with the heavy burden of grief, but he also has to overcome the challenges of being a father. A lot of responsibility that he overcomes with the support of friends (Lil Rel Howery) and family (Rodney Alexandre, Alfre Woodard).
