What’s the movie about?
Jean Valjean (Hugh Jackman) spent almost 20 years in prison as a ‘prisoner 24601’ for stealing bread for his starving family. When he is released on parole, he wants to start a new life. But first he has to escape the grip of the relentless inspector Javert (Russell Crowe), who is always on his heels and only lurks for Valjean’s misstep. In order to finally leave the past behind, he disappears and takes on a new identity. But Javert is still after him and when Valjean falls in love with Fantine (Anne Hathaway), who lives in poor circumstances, there is a tragic turn…
