What’s the movie about?
Set in rural southern Ohio and West Virginia, The Devil All the Time follows a cast of captivating and bizarre characters from the end of World War II to the 1960s. There is Willard Russell, a tormented veteran of the South Pacific slaughter who cannot save his beautiful wife Charlotte from an agonizing cancer death, no matter how much sacrificial blood he pours on his “prayer diary”. There are Carl and Sandy Henderson, a couple of serial killers who roam the highways of America in search of suitable models to photograph and kill. The preacher Roy, who deals with spiders, and his crippled, virtuoso guitar-playing sidekick Theodore are running away from the law. And in the middle of all this is Arvin Eugene Russell, the orphaned son of Willard and Charlotte, who grows up to be a good, but also violent man.
